Our DSL is definitely out. I'm writing this from the public library (Gmail freaked out when I tried to access my mail. I had to jump through hoops to get it). Our landline phone is very nearly out, too. The static is so bad that we're lucky to make out half of what's said. I got a call yesterday from (I think) DTE saying that there's going to be a power outage some time in the near future. I couldn't hear when, and I'm not absolutely sure about it being a power outage. I really couldn't hear.

I hope that the guy from AT&T finds the problem quickly on Monday. I hope, too, that he comes early in the day. I need to leave about 2:30 to take Cordelia to the dentist. I thought about rescheduling the appointment, but we don't even know for sure that the guy will need to come inside.

Scott's theory is that whatever's wrong with the line gets worse as it gets warmer. That would fit with our tending to have DSL and relatively clear phone lines in the mornings (though not this morning) with everything going wonky by noon. I don't know.

I hope Cordelia's school actually is having a bowling night tonight. That would make the problem of getting dinner quite a bit simpler. Cordelia would have either a hotdog or a piece of pizza. I'd just have to worry about feeding myself. Then again, it might be better if it's not happening tonight. I don't have a lot of money on hand, and I want to use about $11 of it to buy myself lunch.

We have internet and phone again! The guy from AT&T showed up about 5:30 this evening. We'd been told he wouldn't be here until Monday. Fixing the problem took him about half an hour and a bit of back and forth (He had to go a couple of blocks away to turn off the line so that he could work on it).

Cordelia's school's bowling night didn't happen. There was a teacher there when we showed up who said that she thinks it's been rescheduled to the 16th. I suppose they'll get around to telling us that eventually. Cordelia was disappointed, but she found things to do, playing outside after dinner.

Scott had to work until 7:00 tonight. We still don't know about the weekend. He's going to try to get Saturday if he can because that's when the soccer game is. On Sunday, if he's not working, we have to get up and out the door early for our nephew's confirmation. We still need to talk to Scott's parents to find out if gifts are expected at Methodist confirmations. Scott says he doesn't know.
