Scott's father is in the hospital with heart trouble. They're rating his heart function at eighteen percent. Scott's parents are in Florida right now, so Scott and his siblings can't visit or do anything much to support his mother, who's beside herself with worry. Scott's father was apparently not feeling quite right before they left on their trip in September, but he insisted on going anyway.

I know Scott's pretty worried, too. He feels really helpless with his parents so far away. We haven't told Delia. I think we'll have to if we want to get her to talk on the phone with her grandparents. She normally refuses to talk on the phone at all.
