Re: Case Closed: OMG, that meta-plot NEVER moves at all. I'm with you on not liking the murder mystery plot filler, and there's SO MUCH of it! Just skip it and stick to the fanfiction.
Re: Miss Pettigrew: Oh, yes, I loved that movie, but I felt so sorry for her not getting to eat at all! I think she had two bites of cucumber during her time at the spa. From what I've heard, it's based on a fairly decent novel (one that's on my list to check out, but I've not gotten around to yet.)
Re: Tales from Earthsea: Yeah, what was that? There were so many questions and confusing points that I didn't know what to do with any of them. The villain seemed properly villainous, but his plans were never entirely explained, and I didn't understand how he related to the worldwide problem of magic dying. And why did Arem murder his father? Maybe Personality #2 was somehow dangerous or something? Anyway, so disappointing. The backgrounds were really pretty, but the movie was nowhere near as good as a Ghibli movie should be. :(
