With Tamoxifen, the uterine lining can build up and just not get around to sloughing off. Usually, it's time for a period when the lining is about 7 mm thick. I was at 18 mm 2-3 months after stopping the Tamoxifen, so the iron was no longer available for moving stuff around in my body but hadn't actually exited yet.
