The bad crash actually comes mid-afternoon. That's when my vision gets bad and I start saying things that make my daughter tell me to go to bed.
I'm not so bad in the mornings (but I do have two teaspoons of honey in my morning tea as early as I can get away with). It's about 2 p.m. when I really have problems, and that's even with making sure that I eat a little bit several times during the preceding hours (3-4 hours).
I'm pretty sure that glucose wouldn't be a big deal for my digestive system. I can have other very basic carbs then. The problem at that point is reflux. I have to be very, very careful about what I eat after lunch time because of not wanting to set that off.
I also, though, shouldn't drink very much because of getting up every ten minutes for the first hour I'm in bed not being a good thing. I only have problems with that when I lie down, so I've just been told not to drink much for 2-3 hours before I go to bed.
