I find that if I'm feeling overheated, I'm either getting a migraine or (nowadays) having a hot flash. The stupid hot flashes come in all shapes and sizes and I end up puzzling at it until I finally go OH. Right.

It really does sound like y'all need at least one NPC who can guard the door/van/horses/spaceship. Especially if you don't have a player who regularly conks out at the table.
