We do have one player who leaves the game half an hour before the end of each session. He's got a one year old at home, so his schedule is more constrained than the rest of us who either have no kids or have kids many years older. This player missed all game sessions for the first several months after they adopted their daughter, so it's nice to have him back at all.
Scott is the GM, so I'll mention to him the idea that we need a generic do-the-tedious-things npc. He's planning to add in an npc who has some computer expertise because our group is seriously lacking in that department, but I think that particular npc would be too useful (and too developed) to leave back at base to answer the phones.
