I've been reluctant to look at apps because the software on the phone directs me to Amazon and immediately wants me to login. It won't let me browse without identifying myself. That's a threshold I have yet to cross. I don't want my login information for any site saved on the phone or for the phone to be routinely logged in to anything whatsoever.

Of course, the phone won't stop whining about the fact that I'm not logged in and trying to persuade me that wonderful things will happen if I just give the phone my Gmail and password.
