Yay for getting through the surgery! You are awesome, and you're gonna get through whatever follow-up they recommend like a bad-ass.
I had minor surgery to remove a polyp years back, and the nurse who was supposed to place my IV actually blew out the vein on my left hand, so she had to put it in my right. So I ended up with both hands sore and bruised. And the only thing I remember about getting grommets in my ears as a three-year-old is how wickedly painful the needles in my hand and arse were before I got knocked out. I know anaesthesia saves a hell of a lot of pain, but sometimes for small/minimally invasive things, I think it's the worst part. It's certainly the bit I hate most about the dentist.
