I've been trying to remember when I got my library card. I can't. I think I was older than five, but I'm not sure I was much older than Delia is now. I know I was in fifth grade when I was allowed to check books out of the adult section, but I don't know if that was library policy or parental policy. I think I was in fourth grade when I started sometimes going to the library by myself, on foot.
