Voting for the finish-a-thon is still going. I'm checking in occasionally (compulsively) on my polls specifically to see which fics are ahead.
I'm half amused and half disappointed to see that my predictions about the voting are proving correct (so far). I expected the Back to the Future fic, the Narnia fic and the Narnia/Secret Garden fic to be leading, and they are. Back to the Future had nine votes last time I checked, Narnia had thirteen, and Narnia/Secret Garden had eleven. My disappointment comes mostly from the fact that I'm probably not going to be surprised by the results. These are all fics I want to write, so I won't be disappointed to work on any of them. I expect to enjoy it.
I think it's just a matter of roads not taken, of as yet hypothetical roads not taken. Eight of the fics, after all, won't get written for this ficathon. One will, but the others won't.
I'm also kind of amused by the person offering a Shakespeare/Muppets crossover who didn't expect it to be the overwhelming favorite. (See, there's a reason to look at all the polls. There are some extraordinary plotbunnies lurking there in a variety of fandoms.) I knew immediately that I was voting for that one, so I'm pleased that other people agree. Maybe it'll win, and I'll get to read it.
