[personal profile] evalerie gave me a ride to my appointment yesterday. That was at the cancer center and was just quick checkup. The main delay was trying to figure out what was going on with the blood pressure thingy I bought. The conclusion is that we can't actually tell if it's miscalibrated because the cuff that came with it is too small. I need the next size up.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the damned thing for sale anywhere. I can find it mentioned everywhere that sells the basic machine, but there aren't links from those to the XL cuff. Searching Amazon specifically for the cuff has gotten me nowhere. I paid $40+ for the basic machine (with 'large' cuff) and $13 for the power adapter. I didn't buy the XL cuff at the time because it would have been at least another $30.

On the plus side, the blood pressure readings at the appointment yesterday were reassuringly normal for me-- 110/64 was the first one. The only one higher was with my machine which was 141/85, and the nurse was 95% sure it's that the cuff doesn't fit. It seals on my arm and doesn't loosen as it inflates, so I had assumed it was good enough. Maybe, if I can't find the right cuff to buy, I can just recalibrate to offset?

I very much want to nap, but I will need to either call a cab in a bit over an hour or head out to catch the bus. Lying down for that long is just likely to annoy me.
