Cordelia has discovered that she likes ham lunchmeat. She particularly likes ham on graham crackers. I'm a little boggled by that, but they're her taste buds.
Yeah, protein is an issue with Liam, too. He'll eat carbs forever, but he's incredibly picky about protein and is hard to persuade into trying new things. I can't understand why he loves chicken but refuses to eat turkey -- odd little taste buds.
Ham is traditionally served with a sweet glaze, sometimes even with cinnamon. I don't see what's outrageous about the flavor combination. It's not to my taste, but I don't like ham at all.
Part of my bogglement is that I, also, don't like ham. I can tolerate lunchmeat ham if there's nothing better to be had, but classic ham gives me reflux, and I don't like the texture of it. I tend to find ham more palatable as it gets saltier and smokier. I suspect that my brain has coded sweeter ham as more likely to make me sick.

It's funny how kids often won't eat what we think are perfectly normal foods, yet they come up with food combinations we think are weird.

The only ways I like graham crackers are dipped in milk, or in s'mores, and that last one only if it's outdoor so I don't have to care about crumbs.
