We had the worst time with Science Olympiad, frankly. The prep materials kind of... aren't, at least for 8th grade astronomy.
The bridge building was good, though.
It seemed like parents and teachers with prior experience in a category did okay prepping and leading the kids, and those without were lost. At least, I was. I wish you luck! And maybe find someone who did your segment another year?
