It's not repeated concussions. She had one that took her to the ER at the very end of May. That came from a laptop falling on her while she was seated on the floor.

Then, on the last day of school, she and her friends ran around downtown, in hot weather for several hours, and she skipped lunch because she thought she didn't have money. At around 10 that evening, she was still with her friends, and they were watching movies (having had pizza for dinner). At that point, she got a bad headache and blurry vision. The hosting mother, after talking to the girl's mother, called an ambulance.

This last Thursday, she misjudged the height of a roof overhang and banged her head on it as she was walking out from under.

She hasn't fallen, and she is seeing a neurologist who specializes in concussion. Her mother is a professor at the nursing school at the local large university and supervises students getting practical experience at the VA. She is not messing around about her daughter's health. I'm pretty sure the girl is getting top notch treatment because her mother wouldn't settle for anything less and actually does know the difference.
