From listening to too many Ingress players, I learned that glympse is a program like the iOS "find my friends" app, but doesn't require you to be using an iPhone, and the glympse is time limited. So you can send someone a link that shows where you are for the next x hours, without having to trust that they will delete you from a more permanent app.
