I still haven't decided whether or not I'm signing up for Not Prime Time (I signed up for the Weiss Kreuz Reverse Fest, but I'm still considering being foolish and signing up for both). I'm getting ready to sign up, anyway, and that means figuring out what to ask for (I've already figured out what to offer. That's a simpler process) and writing a dear author letter.

I'll read gen, het, and M/M or F/F slash, but I'm tending more toward gen these days. I'll read any pairing (or none!) and also threesomes and moresomes.

I like crossovers, but I may not be familiar with big, popular fandoms that most everybody has seen or read (I don't know Supernatural, White Collar, Sherlock or Merlin, for example. If you look at the recs on my website you'll have a better idea of what fandoms I know. I haven't updated the recs in years, though, so more recent fandoms won't be reflected there.). I like time travel. I like character explorations and five things stories. I like missing scenes and stories that expand on the backstory. I don't mind angst, but I like to see the pain buy something, even if it's just character growth. I like divergent AUs, the sort where one event or detail is different and the changes ripple out from there.

I don't like zombies, vampires or unicorns. Horror in general is not my cup of tea. I don't like transplant AUs (the type where everybody's in a rock band or is a fire fighter or whatever). I'm deeply uncomfortable with RPF of all types if it involves people currently alive or alive during living memory. My feelings on historical RPF depend heavily on how it's handled. I'd prefer to avoid incest or mpreg. Child harm is something I can't handle, and I don't want to read about underage (under 18) sex.

I don't particularly care if the story is in the style of canon as long as the characters are recognizably themselves. Sometimes a change in style gives an entirely new view of characters or events.

My requests:

These are all things I want. Whichever of these fandoms we matched on, I'll be thrilled by the story you write.

Weiss Kreuz (any) - Weiss Kreuz is the fandom of my heart. It's the one I keep returning to when I write. I think I like the fact that you can do just about anything without breaking genre. I tend to prefer the Kapitel era because I came into the fandom before Gluhen came out, but I don't object to Gluhen particularly. Farfarello is not my favorite character, so I would prefer that the story not focus on him (I note that he was not one of the nominated characters, so I'm assuming we won't have matched on him). I tend to assume that all of the characters are competent and reasonably intelligent. I'm vaguely familiar with Side B and the drama CDs, just by fandom osmosis.

The Pretender (Miss Parker) - The Pretender was the first show that really strongly captured my attention, the first one for which I sought out and read fan fiction. I enjoy the paranoia and the layers of conspiracy. I do prefer that Miss Parker not be given a first name. I'd rather not have kid fic in this fandom. I'm relatively agnostic about any romance between Miss Parker and Jarod. I don't object to it, but I don't ship them. I don't mind Thomas in the fic.

Rurouni Kenshin (Kamiya Kaoru) - I've read all of the manga but have only seen the anime through the Kyoto arc. The characters and setting really captured my imagination. I've always wanted to write for this fandom but haven't ever done it. I would like a story about Kaoru's strengths. I feel that, a lot of the time, she gets the short end of the stick while the male characters are being awesome, and I'd like to see her being awesome, too. (This doesn't necessarily mean fighting. There are other ways to be awesome.) I don't mind other characters being in the story. I'd just prefer a focus on Kaoru. I have no objection to Kenshin/Kaoru romance as long as it doesn't take the focus off of Kaoru.

Slayers (Xellos) - So much of Xellos is hidden that I want to see more of him. I don't necessarily want his point of view (though that would be cool!) because I can see how he might be so alien as to be hard to write. I'm curious as to what he really wants and how he feels about Lina and company. I don't ship Xellos with anybody. I'm not sure he's human enough for it to work. That said, I'm willing to be convinced if the story takes you there.
