Dear Fic Corner writer,

Whatever fandom we matched on, I'm going to be thrilled to get a fic. I may have more to say about some fandoms than others, but that doesn't mean I love any of them less.

I'll read gen, het, and M/M or F/F slash, but I'm tending more toward gen these days. I'll read any pairing (or none!) and also threesomes and moresomes, but I prefer to avoid incest or underage (under 18) sex. I'll read any rating but am tending more toward G and PG fics right now.

I like crossovers, but I'm not familiar with a lot of the big, currently popular, western media fandoms. I think some of my fandoms here could cross over in interesting ways if you happen to know more than one fandom (If you don't, no big deal. I like other things, too). I like missing scenes and stories that expand on backstory. I don't mind angst, but I like to see the pain buy something, even if it's just character growth. I like divergent AUs, the sort where one detail changes and differences ripple out from there. I like time travel stories of various types. I like five things stories.

I dislike zombies, vampires and unicorns. I'm really upset by child harm. Horror, in general, is not for me. I don't like transplant AUs, the kind where they're all suddenly in a rock band or whatever. I'm deeply uncomfortable with most RPF; the exception is if all the real people have been dead at least a hundred years.

I don't particularly care if the story is in the style of canon as long as the characters are recognizably themselves. Sometimes a change in style gives an entirely new view of characters or events.

Specific fandoms (there's nothing new here. I'm just repeating my requests for future reference):

The Witch Family - Eleanor Estes (any): This was a childhood favorite, and I was really happy when I could introduce my daughter to it. I tend to prefer assuming that the witches are real to assuming that it's all stories the girls are telling, but I can see how the latter interpretation works with the book. I'm not a fan of the sequel, The Curious Adventures of Jimmy McGee, because it didn't feel like it really was a sequel (I wanted more about the witches). How do Clarissa and Amy feel about the witches as they grow up? What does Malachi think as he guards Old Witch? Just how reformed is Old Witch? What adventures does the Little Witch Girl have?

Alcatraz Smedry series - Brandon Sanderson (any): The cliffhanger at the end of book four really nags at me, especially knowing that it might be years (or never) before Sanderson writes book five. I'm really open to anything here. The cliffhanger is kind of big to address in a short fic, but I wouldn't be against some other form of future fic. For backstory, you could tell me how Shasta and Attica met and why they married. You could give me five times Grandpa (Leavenworth) Smedry was late. I'd enjoy reading about how Bastille came to choose being a knight of Crystallia. I'm sure there are fascinating potential stories I'm not thinking of.

Archer's Goon - Diana Wynne Jones (any): I'm pretty sure I was in college when I met this book. I've read it at least a dozen times over the years. I love the humor. The idea of a family dividing up everything about a town caught my attention-- They were powerful enough to be scary while still being interesting. Any of the nominated characters could be interesting, and I'd be happy with future fic or backstory. Events of the novel from a point of view other than Howard's could also be a lot of fun.

Chronicles of Narnia - C.S. Lewis (any): This is another childhood love. I'm more aware of the series' flaws now than I was then, but I'm still fascinated by the potential of the characters and the world. This is the only fandom I'm requesting that I've previously written (the stories are posted on AO3). I'm more interested in things in Narnia than I am in events back in England, but I'm not against an England story. I don't mind exploring worlds other than ours and Narnia if you want to go in that direction. I am interested in the view of minor characters on events. I'm fascinated by the idea of people who aren't in the least human but who are still people. All of the nominated characters sound interesting, so I'm sure I'll enjoy the story no matter who you write about.

Drujienna's Harp - Ellen Kindt McKenzie (any): Once upon a time, I knew this book so well that I could tell parts of it to my sister as bedtime stories. My memory's not so clear these days, but I still love the book. Tell me about Duncan's experiences once he's separated from Tha. Tell me about Drujienna. Tell me what the curse will do in the third hundred years. Give me backstory for Acheron or Eshone. I'll really be happy with anything.

Morrow series - H.M. Hoover (any): Treasures of Morrow was the second science fiction book I ever read and the first one that sent me looking for more by the author (my elementary school library only had Treasures of Morrow. I had to go to the public library for Children of Morrow). I was fascinated by the idea of a society of telepaths. I'd be interested in a story set after canon that tells more about how Tia and Rabbit find their places. I'd be interested in a story about how the two societies interact with each other, going forward. Backstory about Ashera or Varas could be fascinating, so could backstory on their world, something about the people mentioned as part of the history.
