Dear Yuletide Author

I haven't entirely decided what to request yet, but I'm going to post what I've got now. I'll edit if I add more fandoms to my requests. I might. I might not.
Whatever fandom we matched on, I'm going to be thrilled to get a fic. I may have more to say about some fandoms than others, but that doesn't mean I love any of them less.
I'll read gen, het, and M/M or F/F slash, but I'm tending more toward gen these days. I'll read any pairing (or none!) and also threesomes and moresomes, but I prefer to avoid incest or underage (under 18) sex. I'll read any rating but am tending more toward G and PG fics right now. Several of the fandoms I'm requesting are intended for kids. I'd prefer, in those cases, to avoid anything explicit.
I like crossovers, but I'm not familiar with a lot of the big, currently popular, western media fandoms. I think some of my fandoms here could cross over in interesting ways if you happen to know more than one fandom (If you don't, no big deal. I like other things, too). I like missing scenes and stories that expand on backstory. I don't mind angst, but I like to see the pain buy something, even if it's just character growth. I like divergent AUs, the sort where one detail changes and differences ripple out from there. I like time travel stories of various types. I like five things stories.
I dislike zombies, vampires and unicorns. I'm really upset by child harm. Horror, in general, is not for me. I don't like transplant AUs, the kind where they're all suddenly in a rock band or whatever. I'm deeply uncomfortable with most RPF; the exception is if all the real people have been dead at least a hundred years.
I don't particularly care if the story is in the style of canon as long as the characters are recognizably themselves. Sometimes a change in style gives an entirely new view of characters or events.
The Witch Family - Eleanor Estes (any): This was a childhood favorite, and I was really happy when I could introduce my daughter to it. I tend to prefer assuming that the witches are real to assuming that it's all stories the girls are telling, but I can see how the latter interpretation works with the book. I'm not a fan of the sequel, The Curious Adventures of Jimmy McGee, because it didn't feel like it really was a sequel (I wanted more about the witches). How do Clarissa and Amy feel about the witches as they grow up? What does Malachi think as he guards Old Witch? Just how reformed is Old Witch? What adventures does the Little Witch Girl have? Do the Little Witch Girl and the baby witch really not age?
Alcatraz Smedry series - Brandon Sanderson (any): The cliffhanger at the end of book four really nags at me, especially knowing that it might be years (or never) before Sanderson writes book five. I'm really open to anything here. The cliffhanger is kind of big to address in a short fic, but I wouldn't be against some other form of future fic. For backstory, you could tell me how Shasta and Attica met and why they married. You could give me five times Grandpa (Leavenworth) Smedry was late. I'd enjoy reading about how Bastille came to choose being a knight of Crystallia. I'm sure there are fascinating potential stories I'm not thinking of.
Planet Ladder (any) - Planet Ladder is the fandom I keep requesting every year. There's so little fic for it, that I'm desperate for anything. Bambi is a favorite of mine. I'm very interested in her relationship with Kaguya. Gold seems ripe for exploration-- How does he perceive events? Is he autonomous enough to have opinions or thoughts? Waseda also seems like a good possibility for a story. What does it mean to him to no longer be physically human? As to Kaguya, does she ever go back to Japan? What happened to her family there? She ends up with Seeu, how did that work? One of the things I loved when reading Planet Ladder was how there seemed to be more story behind everything, more than what we were actually given. I'd love to see some of those details. I'm interested in backstory or missing scenes here, but I wouldn't say no to future fic or just about anything else.
Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman (any) - Please, if you need to use Fetchers, make some up. RPF squicks me, and it's worse when the real people in question are kids. I only nominated fictional characters from this fandom because that's who I want a story about. What's Blossom thinking about? What were Ruff and Scruff like as puppies? How much of what Chet does is deliberate? I'd be happy to see any of the fictional characters I didn't nominate, too-- Grandma Ruffman, Glen, Uncle McRuffmantosh, any of the others. Depending on the story I get, I may share it with my ten year old (this is her all time favorite TV show. She watches episodes over and over), so please bear that in mind when writing.
