She's got a neighbor with a second grader who loves the Harry Potter books. He's read all of them and wants other similar stuff. His mother has never been a reader and has no idea what he might like. My mother wants some titles to suggest.
I've got a few ideas, but it's been many years since I paid much attention to kids books. I've also only got a vague grasp of what's considered age appropriate (and given that he's read all five Harry Potter books, I'm not sure what his maturity level is).
So, do any of you have suggestions?
