It's been a while. I've been thinking for the last week that I wanted to write an entry. I just haven't found the time and focus to sit down and compose one. I'm sure I've lost track of some things I really wanted to remember, but... I'll have to live with that.

Some Things About Delia, Some Things About Me )

I want to extend general apologies to the folks on my friends list. I've been leaving almost no comments in recent weeks. That doesn't mean that I'm not reading or not sympathizing over the bad or rejoicing over the good; I'm just generally brain fried and often reading while trying to do three other things.

Delia just managed something really cute and really frustrating. She was playing in her room (I'd just pulled some hand-me-down toys from her cousins out of storage, figuring that she's old enough for them now), and I went out to do something. I heard a thump and returned quickly to investigate. I could still hear her playing, and she wasn't crying, so I wasn't worried. When I got there, though, I discovered that she'd managed to close the door.

The door opens inward, so I pushed at it cautiously, opening it a crack. Good thing, too. She was sitting right up against it and pushed it shut again with her feet. I had to laugh. I had to laugh. I told her that she was getting an early start, that she's not old enough to be slamming her door in my face.

After a few minutes, though, she began to fuss. She didn't like having me on the other side of something she couldn't see through. There wasn't a lot I could do safely, though. She was still right in front of the door, and opening it would knock her over. So I walked away for about a minute. When I came back, she'd finally moved away, so I went in and loaded up her dirty clothes. When I left, she followed.
