My Yuletide story has stalled out at just a bit over a thousand words. I'm not worried yet because I have time to let it stew and because I've hit the minimum word count. If I can't find a better way to make it work, I can probably wrap it up quickly and call it a vignette rather than a full story.

At any rate, while I let the story stew, I'm poking at other things-- Editing my BookMooch wishlist (the changes to how it displays are a pain in the butt for that. It's now multiple screens, and each deletion takes me back to the first screen), writing about my personal theology (still too incoherent and wandering to be worth posting), listing things I really like or really dislike in stories (very long and needing serious editing and more writing).

I'm also contemplating the cleaning that needs to be done this afternoon. We're having a few people over this evening for board and card games, and the house is a wreck. I'm just not sure how up to the cleaning I am. I'll probably make short forays into it over the course of the afternoon, a few minutes at a time. I don't want to exhaust myself, not with company coming and a nasty cold.

Any of you who're local enough are welcome to come. Just let me know that you're interested. We plan to start playing about 7 and may do some form of potluck before that if there's enough interest.

There will be kids besides Delia here. I don't play most board or card games (I tend to panic), so I'll be doing kid supervision. If we have more than three kids, I may ask parents to rotate in and out to help with kid wrangling.
