Last week was mid-winter break for Cordelia's school. That meant that Cordelia was home all week. She was remarkably good given that she was mostly stuck with just me.

Monday the 22nd was part of a big snowstorm. I had an appointment with a doctor at the obesity clinic. My friend, Chris, slogged through the snow with her son in tow to give me and Cordelia a ride. The whole thing was pretty much a waste of time, but it was something my primary care doctor really wanted. The endocrinologist I saw seemed puzzled as to why I was there given that I'm already losing weight.

Tuesday, I saw the psychiatrist. Cordelia and I went into town by bus and came home the same way. Cordelia stayed in the waiting room with a workbook.

Wednesday was Scott's birthday. He took a vacation day. He got his physical out of the way early in the day. Then we took Cordelia to the doctor for her eczema. That resulted in two referrals, one to dermatology and one to an allergist. Those appointments are next week (I'm not looking forward to them at all).

After Cordelia's appointment, we went out for lunch. We went to Joe's Crab Shack. The three of us shared a two person steam pot. We picked Joe's because we were fairly sure we could steer Cordelia to a decent meal while avoiding soy and dairy. She likes crab (so do Scott and I), and she had a salad.

Then we went to MedEquip so that Scott could get a loaner c-pap while they decide whether to repair his old one or replace it entirely. We're hoping for a replacement as his current machine is ancient.

By Thursday, Cordelia's good behavior was wearing thin. I'd have loved to invite one of her friends over, but the cleaning lady comes on Thursdays. We needed to keep her room tidy (so it could be mopped) and to minimize the number of children underfoot in the afternoon.

Friday was frustrating. I tried hard to set up a playdate for Cordelia, but nothing came of it. She was bored, and there wasn't much I could do to help. Both Cordelia and I were a bit crazy by the end of the day.

Saturday, one of Cordelia's friends came over for a long playdate. Scott and I worked on laundry and other household maintenance while the girls played.

Sunday, we went up to Scott's sister's place for a birthday party for our nephew and for Scott. We took food for Cordelia because we weren't sure what safe options would be available. I'm glad we did because none of the bread available for making sandwiches was safe. (Finding safe bread is a real challenge.)

We were glad to see Scott's mother. She had surgery on the 22nd, and her being out and about meant she was recovering well.
