Last night was Cordelia's first swim lesson. It went pretty well, all things considered. She actually went in the water and said afterward that she wished the next lesson were sooner than next week. She refused to put her face in the water, however, and also balked at jumping into the water (one of the instructors was waiting to catch her).

It was quite warm in the room with the pool. Next time, I'll leave my sweater at home. I don't know how the water temperature was. Cordelia said it seemed warm at first but got colder.

The pool is at Clague, the middle school Cordelia will eventually attend. We'd never been in the building before, so we allocated extra time to be sure we could find the changing room, get Cordelia changed and so on. Cordelia and I got out into the room with the pool with about five minutes to spare before the class started.

Assuming it doesn't get cancelled, Cordelia also starts a basketball class this week. I'm concerned about it because it was supposed to start last week, but they called to say they were delaying it by a week due to not having enough kids signed up. Cordelia is looking forward to the class, so I really hope it happens. She could use the practice in case she plays basketball again next year. I think she'd like to play again.
