This week is spring break. That means Delia's home all day and bored. We had one of her friends over yesterday and are hoping to have the same friend again today. The difficulty is that the friend is less enthusiastic about Delia's company than Delia is about hers. The friend has two siblings at home to play with, and her mother can drive. They'll be doing some special activities at least a couple of days this week.

Scott found a used laptop for Delia, so she now has wireless again (her old laptop got dropped months ago. It was my fault. The wireless stopped working after that. She still used it to watch movies, but it wasn't the same). She been doing a lot of chatting with me. She has two websites bookmarked-- pbskids.org and the Atlanta Zoo's panda cam. I need to copy down the other kids' sites I've got bookmarked and bookmark them on her laptop. Actually, first I have to figure out which of the sites are really usable and age appropriate. I'm reluctant to use anything that requires a fee (not when I don't know if Delia will actually use the site) which leaves a lot of educational sites out.

I'm still working on my Remix fic. It's going slowly, especially now that Delia's at home all day and wanting my attention. I'm confident of my ability to finish, but I'm not confident in the quality of the resulting fic. It's a sort of story I've never attempted before. I suppose I'll see how it comes out. I just need to get through a little bit of a difficult patch, and then I'll be in the final conversation. I think that will go quickly.

Soccer season starts this week. We'll have practices on Thursdays. Delia and I will have to take the bus out to where we'll meet the family that will give us a ride the rest of the way to practice. I have to decide whether or not having a chair during the hour of practice is worth the trouble of hauling one along on the bus.

We're going to have to move Rock Hunters practices now that Saturdays are taken up with soccer games. Unfortunately, there's no good day to switch to. Delia has Chinese on Tuesdays for most of the month (and a dentist appointment on the first Tuesday after Chinese ends). Mondays, we have Brownies. Wednesdays, the other child has soccer practice (and his parents have said Wednesdays absolutely wouldn't work). Thursdays, the cleaning lady comes, and Delia has soccer. Fridays are possible, but that would mean that Delia wouldn't be able to have her friend, Emi, over at all. Saturdays are soccer games. Maybe Sundays would work, except for the 17th when Delia has a soccer game. I have no good solution.
