I'm looking for a beta reader for my Parallels Fic story. It's an anonymous exchange, so I can't publicly reveal the fandom. The exchange is for rare Asian fandoms (just so you have some idea what you might be in for).

The story's relatively short, probably under 2000 words. It's G rated gen.

I'm not expecting to find someone who knows the fandom (though it would be wonderful if I got lucky!). What I want at this point is mostly a check over for typos and blatant grammatical errors.

I need to post this story by 1 August, so I'm kind of in a hurry.

I've mistimed a few things. I have only one book to read for the week, and Netflix has sent me two DVDs of Lois & Clark which I was really only watching to have background noise while I wrote my story for Parallels Fic. I don't want to send them back unwatched, but I also am only vaguely interested in watching them.

Scott is in bed now. He has to work 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow and will probably have another long day later this week. He worked twelve hours on Saturday due to unexpected complications at work. We're expecting a lot of mandatory overtime in the next few months (someone on third shift is out with a severed Achille's tendon. He won't be back for six months).

Delia is giving us a hard time. She's supposed to go to Girl Scout camp on Wednesday and spend two nights. She doesn't want to go. She says she's afraid she won't be able to sleep away from home. She doesn't think she'll have fun. She's afraid to try something so very new. She doesn't care that she'll have one of her best friends there with her. She doesn't care that Scott has offered her a reward for going and making it through. There's a giant stuffed panda at the local toy store that she desperately wants.

I know she can do this if she just makes up her mind to try. She just really, really hates trying anything new, and her whole problem with being afraid she won't be able to sleep adds a layer of complication. If that had started before I signed her up for camp, I probably wouldn't have done it.

At least I finished my Parallels Fic story. That gives me a sense of accomplishment.
