It's a good thing I thought to call ahead. I'd hate to have dragged myself into town only to find out that my doctor's office had no record of my appointment.

My records say that I'm due to see my doctor at 1:30 today. Usually, my doctor's office calls a day or two ahead to confirm the appointment. This time, they didn't. I thought that was odd, but I figured that maybe the secretary didn't get around to it because it was Friday or something. Then, this morning, I started to worry when I still didn't get a call.

I called the office, and they told me they have no record of me having any sort of appointment today or any time in the future. They can get me in at 10:00 on the 26th. I'd rather not go in that early because the buses are crazy at that time of day (standing room only and often passing by people waiting at stops because there isn't even standing room left). With luck, the seventy-five minutes between when I drop Delia off and when I have to be there will be enough to get a bus into town.

I was going to stop at the library to pick up a hold that came in just before closing last night (well after Scott had been to the library). They only keep holds on the shelf for six days, so they'll pull the hold Saturday evening. I don't care enough about the hold to make a trip into town just for that. Going in would leave me wiped out for the rest of the day. I'll get the book some other week. (I am puzzled by the hold coming in that late. The catalog shows a copy on the shelf at the downtown library, but instead of pulling that one, they pulled the copy at a branch and shipped it to the downtown library. I put in the request on Thursday. Even with the book coming from another branch, it ought to have come in sooner.)
