Scott hasn't been able to find Lego Lord of the Rings for the Wii yet. He's thinking that the guy at Target who told him it was coming out on Tuesday was mistaken. He's going to keep checking back because he wants that game badly. He's hoping that it will get Delia interested in seeing the movies (she's unlikely to read the books any time soon. She bounced hard off The Hobbit when we tried to read it to her. We got up to the chapter with the trolls, and she was bored).

My browser keeps crashing when I try to stream one of the local public radio stations. I don't know if it's that station in particular or streaming in general that's the problem. It matters because I've actually wanted to listen to news the last couple of days. I suppose I'll get over that eventually.

Last night, Delia had volleyball practice. The coach couldn't be there (and won't be at the game on Saturday), but her husband was there and so were a couple of high school girls who play volleyball. The husband was there for adult presence while the high schoolers were to do the actual coaching. Delia wore her new knee pads to the practice but took them off because she got hot. She wants to wear shorts and short sleeves to practices and games from here on out. I'll have to try to remember that.

Scott's Babylon 5 game met last night. My character was unconscious for most of the session, so I was merely watching for a lot of the time. Scott had the other characters sucked into one of my character's memories, so it was at least amusing to see. I had to take time out in the middle to go get Delia from volleyball practice and then, again, to tuck her into bed.

I'm having trouble getting started with my Yuletide fic. I've been poking at canon and thinking hard, but I don't have a starting point. I can't even decide if I should use first person or third. I have two characters to fit into the story, and these particular two mean a post-canon story if I don't want to go AU (and I'd rather not for Yuletide). That means I have to decide what to do with at least some of the dangling plot threads that are left at the end of canon. I suppose I could handwave all of that and set the story far enough in the future that that's all history. I might be able to get away with that.

Today doesn't promise much open time for writing, but I'll dedicate tomorrow to starting the story. I'm going to try to do at least 100 words a day. That's not a lot. I should be able to manage it. I just have to decide on a frame and figure out what happens. I'm considering a five things story, but I don't know if I can manage one or even if it would be the right choice for these characters.

Anybody have any writing tips for getting started?
