Cordelia's team won their basketball game today. It was a very physical game with a lot of contact between the players and a lot times when two or more people were grabbing the ball and struggling to wrest control of it away. The coach commented afterward that it was a hard game to coach and a hard game to referee because of how physical it was. I was actually surprised at how few fouls were called.

The game started late and ran long. That seems to be par for the course at this age. When the game is scheduled for 4:50, we're generally safe to assume that the game before it won't end until about 5:00 (or even later). The kids are guaranteed a minimum of five minutes of warm up time, so that adds in.

After the game, we went to Olga's for dinner. Our waitress apologized repeatedly for how long things took, but I didn't notice an appreciable longer wait time than usual. The waitress did look like she was being run off her feet. They apparently hadn't expected a busy evening, but the place was almost full.

Scott and I are sad to hear that the Flat Top Grill has closed. According to the news article, the parent company has filed for bankruptcy and has closed quite a few restaurants across the Midwest. We'll miss the Flat Top. It was really nice to be able to select our own ingredients based on what looked good and what we liked. It was also great that they had a system for people to signal that they have allergies or other food issues. Dishes with that tag got cooked in separate woks that got cleaned between uses. It was a really good place to go with Scott's parents.
