Sunday, we had [livejournal.com profile] cherydactyl and her family over for game playing. We played a long round of Apples to Apples Disney (kept going until there weren't any red cards left). Then I retired to the living room while Cordelia and [livejournal.com profile] cherydactyl's younger daughter played in Cordelia's room and in the basement. The other adults and the older daughter spent the afternoon playing other games. We ended up having pizza for dinner, Cottage Inn as they have a gluten free pizza available.

Tuesday afternoon, Cordelia had a friend over. I'm not sure what all they got up to. I hope they discussed the science fair project they're planning to do together with a third friend. My understanding is that the project has something to do with figuring out how smart one girl's two dogs are. Two dogs doesn't seem like a very large sample size to me, but this is their idea and their project. I'm glad to see them enthusiastic.

Wednesday was my six weeks thyroid blood test. I was prepared to take the bus there and back, but Scott drove. He and Cordelia picked up bubble tea while I was at UHS. My doctor called yesterday to say that my thyroid levels are now in the normal range. We'll be sticking with the current dosage of Levothyroxine.

Wednesday evening, Scott's Babylon 5 game met. We're switching weeks for the next little while due to various scheduling conflicts. The session was slow to get started. We'd all gone up a level, so there was book keeping to be done. During the game, our ship once again answered a distress call. Those seem to happen frequently. It's a consequence of a ship full of player characters. This was a ship that was transporting a reasonably popular band on tour. We had some concern that the other ship's trouble might have been sabotage, but an inspection revealed that the vessel was held together with little more than wishful thinking. The main wonder was that it had gotten as far as it had.

Thursday in the late afternoon, Cordelia had a friend over. The two of them are supposed to sing a duet (Selena Gomez's "Naturally") in the school talent show on 13 March. They practiced a little. We're going to have to find time for them to practice a lot more. They need it.

Scott and I experimented with making lasagna. We both like it, but neither of us was prepared to undertake making it previously. We used ground turkey because of Scott's beef allergy and Alfredo sauce because of my problems with tomatoes. The preparations took a lot of time, even with both of us working on it. I started working at about five-thirty, and dinner wasn't on the table until about seven-fifteen. I think, if we do it again (and it will only happen when both of us are available to cook), we'll try adding spinach. We may also try cottage cheese in place of the ricotta. The ricotta is a little too sweet, and Cordelia has said that she doesn't like it. I doubt we'll get her to eat the leftovers if we have anything else at all that she can eat.

Right now, Scott and Cordelia are at an indoor waterpark, Splash Universe. [livejournal.com profile] cherydactyl connected us with a fundraiser her younger daughter's school was doing, so Scott was able to get admission at a bit of a discount. I expect that Cordelia is having a blast. Scott may not as much. I've heard that the room that the fundraiser group was likely to have is frigid.

I've done very little writing this week. I did finish a draft of chapter 21 of Rheotaxis and send that to the beta readers. They've gotten back to me, and I've done some minor editing that they suggested, but I need to put in some serious work on the ending of the chapter. Both of them agree that I need to add on to the end. I'm a little reluctant because I don't know what comes next, but I'm sure I'll think of something.
