Jul. 19th, 2013 04:17 pmScott's working late tonight. They drew a name out of a hat, and he got stuck with the overtime. I keep thinking that he'll be home soon, and then I remember that no, he won't. I miss him more when he works late than I do when he's just at work normally. I hope he's managing to stay hydrated. Inside the plant is always ten degrees hotter than whatever it is outside, and the humidity is near one hundred percent (they water cool the molds for the plastic).
Tonight, him working late is inconvenient. Cordelia's softball coach rescheduled practice from Sunday (at Cordelia's school) to today (at a local high school). Fortunately, another family responded to my e-mailed plea for someone to take Cordelia to and from practice. I was afraid that no one would and that I'd have to find out if cabs take credit cards and then spend an hour and a half standing around the field, watching practice.
Of course, the weather still might turn. We're supposed to get storms this evening. The coach says they're currently predicting the storms to be well north of here, but who knows? There's usually at least one downpour during Art Fair, and there hasn't been one yet. We're due.
