Our new kettle has arrived. I've washed it (and gotten water all over myself). I'll try it out making some tea later. Hopefully, I'll like it, and it will last a few years.

I'm less exhausted today than I was yesterday. A night's sleep seems to have helped. I wanted to go to bed early, but Cordelia occupied the bathroom from about 9:15 until 10:00. We've got to get her to bed earlier. I don't mind so much on the weekends, but it's bad on school nights.

Scott put black paper over all the windows in the dining room in an effort to make it dark enough back there that his projector and planetarium program would work. He decided, after all that work, that it didn't work well enough to be useful. I don't know if he's going to take down all that paper or what.

I am thinking to indulge in a jigsaw puzzle after Scott's Science Olympiad practice (2-3 p.m.) today. I've got two puzzles that I haven't completed yet, one that Cordelia picked up at a yard sale last summer and one that I bought a few months ago. Finding an opportunity when the dining room table is clear and won't be needed for a few days is a challenge. In this case, I'd have to be done by Thursday. I can do that, I think.

I'm picky about my jigsaw puzzles. I like lots of details. I don't like landscapes, generally. When I was growing up, my family did a lot of jigsaw puzzles, mostly Springbok. I've made sporadic attempts to get Scott and Cordelia interested, but Scott finds puzzles boring, and Cordelia finds them frustrating. She hasn't had enough practice to figure out how puzzles work.
