Aug. 2nd, 2014 11:41 amLast night was the last softball game of the season. Both teams were playing a player short, so each team only had three girls in the outfield. Cordelia's team kind of ran over the other team. They kept getting the maximum number of runs in each inning. Cordelia made a play to get someone out at third. She struck out a couple of times and got on base a couple of times. She was late in the batting order, so she never made it home before the inning was called.
The weather was much better than it was for Monday's game. I think it was about 80F. The field where we were had shade which was nice. The only bad thing was that there were a lot of gnats and flies, nothing that bites, just a lot of annoyance.
I called my mother during the game. She's doing fairly well. She says it's been cooler in Baton Rouge than it usually is in July/August. That doesn't mean it's really pleasant, just that it's not as bad as usual. She also told me that my brother has put in an offer on a house. He's in Kalamazoo, and the housing market is much friendlier to buyers than the market here.
Scott's family is hoping to do another family vacation in 2015. Scott's sister and her daughter have started searching websites, looking for rental houses. I want to do some looking, too, because I think it would be nice to be near my grandmother or my brother. I think we're more likely to find some place that appeals near my grandmother, but I figure it can't hurt to look on the western side of the state, too. My parents are hoping to buy a summer house over there, so being near my brother might well mean being near them.
