Feb. 23rd, 2015 09:25 amScott's currently out for his annual physical. I expect him back any time now as his appointment was to start over an hour ago. He'll want breakfast then because he had to do a fasting blood draw.
We went to the library around 1:00 yesterday. I only had one hold to pick up because we'd been in on Friday. Cordelia checked out two books by an author I'm not familiar with-- Pat McKissack. Scott suggested we get lunch out, but Cordelia said she wasn't hungry (she never did eat lunch), so I suggested that he and I should go out either today or tomorrow.
I continued writing yesterday. There was a plot development that I really wanted there but that I'm not sure is properly in character right then. Later, definitely, but not necessarily right then. I may have to cut it and write it as happening later. I'd really like to have it in this chapter, though. I think it's important, and if I don't do it in this chapter, I think it will have to wait two chapters. The next chapter ought to go back to other characters. I did find it interesting to write an explicit sex scene from the point of view of a character who doesn't use any of the words I'd normally use for various body parts. I kept having to work around things. I also think that a big chunk of this chapter is too straightforwardly presented for how the point of view character thinks. I may have lost her voice for a while.
Cordelia didn't like the pizza we got on Saturday, either. She got a thin crust pizza with Alfredo sauce, and there was a lot more sauce than she wanted and not all that much cheese. She's refusing to eat the leftovers because she says they're nasty. Cottage Inn has always been reliable for us, so I'm hoping this is just a one time problem rather than a sign that things have changed permanently.
