I woke this morning with a headache. The original plan was to link find before my appointment, but I haven't been able to focus well enough to do that, so I've mostly been reading things online (which may not be great for my headache, either, but I feel like I have to do something). I've taken anaprox and Amerge and had twice as much coffee as usual. The only result is nausea on top of the headache. I'm going to try taking an Ativan now in case this is all stress from my upcoming appointments. I didn't think I was freaking out about them, but... That seems like the most likely explanation for the headache.

Scott and I went and voted as soon as he got home yesterday. We were voters 94 and 95 for our polling place. The parking lot was actually full, so I assume there must have been something else going on-- There were only one or two other people voting while we were there, so the cars can't have belonged just to voters.

From there, we went to Kroger to pick up two prescriptions and to get a third filled. We bought a few food type things, too-- Scott needed bread and orange juice, and we got some chips for tonight's game session.

Cordelia wore her new pajamas last night. The bottoms fit the way they should, but the top is a bit big. I don't think it looks bad. It's not showing anything it shouldn't or anything. It's just bigger and looser than what she's used to wearing. Of course, what she's used to is t-shirts that just barely fit, so her standards are likely to be off. She did note that the pajama shirt has a decorative pattern on the back, on the inside. She was very puzzled as to why anybody would think that was a good idea. I had no answer for her as it seems strange to me, too.

I'm trying to decide whether or not I can handle lunch. It would be a good idea as getting shaky while I'm out of the house would likely make me panic, but I don't know if I can deal with food. I've got forty minutes until I need to leave (if I'm taking the bus which I don't think I am) or to call for a cab, so I don't have a lot of time to dither. I also have to decide what book I'm taking. There's the brick of a history book that I've already started and find interesting, or there's a much lighter paperback (fiction) that I haven't opened and may or may not find I actually want to read it. I do have a large stack of magazines, too. I could take three or four of those, I suppose.

I guess the headache really and truly was anxiety. The Ativan seems to have made it go away almost entirely. I ended up eating oatmeal and applesauce for lunch as I thought they'd be easier on my stomach. I'd have loved some protein, but I think I should be fine. None of my protein options were really good with an upset stomach.

The verdict on the mammogram and ultrasound is 'Yes, we see it now.' It's apparently clearer on the mammogram than on the ultrasound (the resident who was doing the ultrasound actually ended up bringing in someone senior). I just barely made it to my follow up appointment (on a different floor of the same building) on time.

I'm to go back to the radiology folks a week from tomorrow for a biopsy. The doctor said he wasn't comfortable doing it himself because the location of the lump isn't obvious when I'm lying down, just when I'm sitting up, and because the location is on the underside where it's not really feasible to do anything with me sitting up. The other folks can use ultrasound to be completely sure they're sticking the needle into the right place.

It might take as long as a week after that to hear back about the results. It could be sooner, but I don't plan to hold my breath.

The doctor did say that, even if this is cancer, we seem to be catching it very, very early and that he would expect to be able to remove it without needing to take the entire breast and without me being likely to need chemo.

I was hoping that this would prove to be cyst, but that's not what the ultrasound showed, unfortunately.
