Cordelia and I went to lunch with Scott's sister and her daughter at Applebee's yesterday. They picked us up about 1:00, and it was about 2:30 when we got home. I discovered that seatbelts hit some of the wrong places, so I'm not going to be up for any long trips in a car. Scott's parents would like us to visit, but I really don't think I could, even if our weekend schedule weren't already crammed full.

Scott is off today but works tomorrow. Today, he'll get groceries, visit the library, and see about getting a new car. He's not 100% happy with the loan he arranged with out bank, but he thinks, after looking into it, that he's not likely to get better elsewhere. I think he also wanted to mow the lawn, but it looks wet outside, so I don't think that's going to happen.

Scott will be off Monday, too, at least according to the current schedule. That afternoon, weather permitting, he'll take Cordelia and her best friend to the Saline fair. It's the last day, and the website for the fair doesn't even count it as a day the fair is open because all that will be running is the rides. Those will be open from 1-6, and an armband that lets a person ride as many rides as they want to will be $10. The rides are all the girls care about, so they won't mind that the animals and exhibits are gone.

I forgot to set my alarm to take my thyroid medication this morning. I was awake for a while before I realized that, due to the pain. It was 6:30 when I took my thyroid medication and pain medication instead of 5:00, and I really, really noticed the difference in terms of how much I hurt. Eight hours between pain doses is apparently way too long, even when I'm lying still.

I have a little bit of rash on my face, on my cheeks, going up to right below my eyes. It's not visible, but when I touch my face, the skin feels really, really rough. It doesn't hurt the way it would if it were chapped, so I don't think it's that. It also doesn't itch, so I only notice it when I touch my face. I'm not sure what to do about it or even if I should do anything at all. This isn't at all usual for me, but... I don't know.

Netflix has sent us a lot of DVDs this week, and we're not sure why. We're supposed to have three at a time, and right now, we have five. Unfortunately, two of them are both things that Scott and I want to watch together and things I'm not up to dealing with right now (Orphan Black and Lost Girl). I wouldn't mind extra DVDs right now at all if I were up to watching anything that required me to pay attention. I've got about ten minutes left to watch on another DVD and have had for days, but I haven't been able to get myself to do it.

Cordelia has been saying that she wants to watch stuff with us, to spend time with us, but she rejects everything we suggest. She's been watching Boy Meets World on DVD from Netflix and Once Upon a Time streaming from Netflix. She's probably been watching other things that she hasn't told me about. I believe she's currently rereading either Catching Fire or Mockingjay. She's said she wants to finish that reread before school starts.

I need to call the pharmacy. Cordelia's dermatologist's office called in a prescription for her on Monday that we haven't heard anything at all about. If the insurance refused to pay for it, they should have told us. At least, they do with my prescriptions, usually. Also, the Cancer Center told me they called in a pain killer prescription for me yesterday, and I haven't heard anything about that. It wasn't available when Scott picked up my other prescriptions on his way home, and he didn't ask about it. I only have two pain pills left, so this is a big deal that needs to be fixed today.

Well, I called the pharmacy. Cordelia's prescription can't be filled until the 13th, per the insurance company, and costs $90 out of pocket, so I think Cordelia's going to be doing without for a couple of weeks.

My pain prescription has apparently vanished into the ether. The pharmacist I talked to said that they only accept prescriptions for Norco in two ways-- hard copy and email. If the nurse called or faxed the prescription in, they would have deleted the message without filling the prescription or notifying anyone that they weren't going to.

So I've called the hospital and asked for the on-call surgical oncology resident (as it says to do in my handbook). We'll see how long it takes him or her to get back to me. I hope I don't have to call again. I hope, too, that they're willing to help out. Asking for a controlled substance prescription twice in two days isn't generally looked well upon. Of course, the pharmacy can confirm that they did not fill the previous prescription and, indeed, have no record of it.

And the resident just called. She says she'll talk to the pharmacy and try to figure out what's going on. If Kroger won't fill the prescription, we'll try another pharmacy in the area. I think Kroger will fill it if we jump through just the right hoops, but I don't know how the resident will feel about hoop jumping.

And why on earth would the pharmacy accept email prescriptions? If they're worried about forgery or not being sure where the prescription really came from, email is really pretty easy to spoof. I don't know how to do it, but I expect I could find out without exerting myself much.

Scott slept too late today to deal with anything with the car dealership. That closes at 1:00 on Saturdays, and it was past noon by the time he finished showering. Unfortunately, the dealership is closed on Sundays. That means he's pretty much going to have to go over there some evening this week. Hopefully, he will manage to shower before going over there. They tend to ignore him if he comes straight from work.
