Today’s radiation appointment went pretty well. Scott had time to go get tea from Espresso Royale while I was in there, but he was waiting for me when I came out, and I was pretty much on time.

I am finding that making sure I eat before radiation means I’m more awake after. I noticed it yesterday. Of course, with lunch yesterday, I also had a caffeinated beverage, and I think that had an impact, too, because I was more awake yesterday afternoon than this afternoon.

After radiation, we ran a couple of errands. The main one was going to the UM credit union. They hadn’t ever sent us our pin numbers, so we wanted those. We also wanted to put some money into our account there. The woman who helped us out let us apply for the car loan at the same time. She gave us the impression that we’d definitely get the loan.

We took ten minutes to walk to the library from the credit union. I had about ten things to pick up, and Cordelia had one hold waiting. I had only intended to pick up the two items that would expire on Saturday, but I couldn’t remember which ones those were, so we got all of them.

We’d wanted to go the post office to return a CD that won’t play on anything we own (I’ve been trying to get my act together to send that back since the week of my surgery), but we couldn’t find the packing tape. Scott bought a new roll of it several weeks ago, but it’s vanished completely, so we’ll have to buy more before we can mail the dratted thing.

Scott bought new laptops for me and Cordelia because he got tired of us not being able to run current software (Cordelia’s laptop was older than mine). I’m using the new laptop now, but I’m having problems with it. My mail program has crashed repeatedly. I open it, and it crashes seconds later. I tried about a dozen times. I’m now attempting to download a system update in hopes that that will help, but it’s going incredibly slowly— I’ve been running it for about two hours now, and it’s only 456 MB into a 1.52 GB download. Our internet connection has been erratic for a while. It’ll drop for thirty seconds and then come right back. Apparently the software updater doesn’t like that at all.

Scott was a little worried that the storage on the new laptop wouldn’t be enough for my files. He put 500 GB of storage in my old laptop just a few months ago. I was using 95 GB of that. Fortunately, the new laptop has about 250 GB of storage. I don’t think I’m likely to get near to using that up, at least not soon.
