I slept until about 11 this morning, and I pretty easily could have stayed in bed for hours more. This is fairly discouraging as I have things I want to get done. I was hoping to both change our sheets and to try Sit and Be Fit for the first time since I broke my foot last March. I’m not sure I’m going to manage both. I’ve stripped the bed and gotten the fitted sheet in place (I had to rest in between those steps). I’ve got an hour before Sit and Be Fit. In that time, I need to eat lunch and start a load of laundry. I just feel exhausted already, enough so that I’m not sure about managing either task.

Lunch ought not be hard. I’ve got a serving of baked beans in the fridge. Putting that in a bowl and microwaving it shouldn’t be all that challenging. But somehow, it is.

The schools are doing a food drive this week with an eye toward supplying kids who rely on school for breakfast and lunch during the summer when there is no school. I kind of want to search the cupboards for things we could donate, but I suspect that giving money to the food bank (there’s a url for doubling one’s donation via matching funds from a couple of big donors) will be where I end up going. Chances are that that would be more useful than whatever we happen to have in our cupboards. Though I probably should give the nutritional supplement drink samples I got from the cancer center nutritionist last fall and never touched. Those are mentioned specifically as something the food bank can use, and I’m not going to use them.

I managed to do something to my neck by reading in bed yesterday, and it still hurts like the dickens. Applying heat helps a little, so I’ve been doing that.

I have gotten my side of the bed made but not Scott’s side. I have a load of laundry in the wash and one in the dryer. Cordelia needs to wash her clothes. I’m hoping we can fit that in before Scott gets home, but I’m not sure it will happen.

I was hoping to run the dishwasher this afternoon, too, but that would require cleaning the chicken broth and pork fat out of the pressure cooker insert, and I very much do not want to deal with that. At this point, too, running the dishwasher would mean delaying Cordelia’s laundry and Scott’s after work shower. I’ll probably run the dishwasher after Scott goes to bed tonight.

Scott has to go in at 3 a.m. tomorrow. The other alternative was working until 7 p.m. both today and tomorrow, so this is kind of the lesser evil. If he works late tomorrow, the odds are against him getting any chance to vote.

Speaking of voting, I’m debating what to do. I was going to skip the primary since I don’t care who the Democratic candidate is, but there’s a millage on the ballot, and I very much want to vote on that. It may make the most sense to wait for Scott to get home and have him drive us to our polling place. I’m completely certain that I can’t manage to walk there and back right now. I could get the bus there. It’s only two stops along, so I’d feel silly, but I could do it. I’m pretty sure I could walk the block and a half to that stop and manage to stand for 5-10 minutes waiting for the bus. Coming home would be harder because I might have to stand for 25 or even 30 minutes (more if the bus is late), and I’m pretty sure I can’t do that. Maybe bus there and cab back? There isn’t anywhere to sit while I wait for a cab, however, so I don’t know.

Scott should be home by 4:30 tomorrow, and that’s a reasonable time to vote. I don’t expect terrible lines.

I am a little concerned. I think I’m getting lymphedema in my side. That is, the fluid is moving out of my breast and settling next to it. That area is sore and a little bit swollen. I’m trying to massage that area when I do my breast massage, but I’m not actually sure which direction I should be pushing. With the breast massage, it’s just away from the center in all directions.
