Dec. 28th, 2017 02:27 pmScott and Cordelia stayed out until past 10 p.m. yesterday. It was very nice to have the time to myself. I changed the sheets and did three loads of laundry. I got the trash and recycling to the curb.
I think I've nearly got the fic I've been working on into the shape that I want it to be. Now I have to trim and edit and figure out what goes where. I'm actually using some of the scrap bits that I thought didn't go anywhere, and I cut at least 1K of stuff that simply didn't work because it had Layla way wrong. There were some murdered darlings there. I've also been exchanging comments on various fics in the series with one reader who's interested in digging into the world building.
This discussion leads me to kind of yearn for a vid of Sky High footage to Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall. I have no idea if it could be done because what I know about vids wouldn't overflow a thimble.
I think my word count for the year will end up at about 190K. I'd love to get to 200K, but there's no way that's going to happen because I'm not going to write 5K words a day. I actually want to do some other things in the next three days. I've got three in progress stories that I might add words to and one idea that would be kind of PWP, so... Depends on how I feel about writing that. I'm also still trying to get the characters in the Sky High series to have sex on screen. They keep almost getting there and then jumping to after.
We currently have no plans for New Year's Eve. I asked Cordelia if she wants to invite friends over, and she said no. Her best friend is down with either a nasty cold or some sort of flu and may not be better by Sunday. I think Scott and I have left it too late to invite anyone over ourselves.
The cleaning lady is here right now. I need to ask her to move her stuff so that I can get at my medications. She came half an hour early, so my timing was off. I really don't want to wait until she leaves because the timing will be not so great.
