I went to bed early last night, around 8:30. This was complicated by a hot flash right as I was preparing to turn out the light. I was just suddenly too warm to bear the thought of even a sheet over me. That lasted about half an hour. I woke when Scott came to bed about three hours later and couldn't get back to sleep for several hours after. I finally tried lying on my back, and that worked. I ended up with another three hours of sleep which included vivid anxiety dreams about a job I haven't had in twenty years and me, for some reason, having to watch Absolutely Fabulous which... seems, by everything I know, like a show calculated to really be horrible for me.

I hit bedtime last night and realized there were several Habitica dailies that I was just not going to stay up to complete, so I turned off my dailies. I don't know if I'll turn them back on today or not. I certainly will tomorrow but maybe not today.

I need to figure out my month to date word counts. I was in the middle of doing that earlier this week and got distracted, so part of that will be figuring out where I left off.

I'm returning more unread books to the library today. I have two novels waiting to be be picked up, and I'm worried I won't manage to read them either, but maybe I'll figure out the reading problems. Writing is just easier right now because I can touch type and not really read so much. I suppose that this is what podcasts and audiobooks are meant for-- The times when my eyes won't cooperate but I'm still quite awake.

I think the eyestrain is partly because, when I'm sitting in bed, the only way to have my laptop at comfortable reading distance is to put the trackpad somewhere inside my torso. Hopefully, the eye doctor I see on Tuesday will have some suggestions.
