Feb. 24th, 2018 01:17 pmToday is Scott's birthday. He took yesterday as a vacation day because his employer allows everybody a birthday related vacation day each year. Taking Friday was a slight gamble because it meant risking them calling to ask him to work today. They mostly don't do that if someone takes a Friday off, but there's a machine that only Scott knows really well, and their parent company recently sent in a panicked order for a lot of bottles (they've been debating changing the bottles they use and debated for long enough to be near running out of any sort of bottles).
We went to Applebee's for lunch yesterday while Cordelia was still at school. We'll be going somewhere today, but Scott's not sure yet where.
Cordelia and I gave him three singleton Sentinels of the Multiverse decks and a thingy with a golf ball on a string for practicing golf swings without losing the ball or risking it hitting things. It's a bit cold and gray outside for using it today, but he will use it. He plays a couple of times a year with his father.
Cordelia had friends over last night. The original plan was for them to go out, but the girl who'd made the plans got the date wrong for the school event they were going to attend (each of the three girls attends a different high school, so cross-checking wasn't really feasible). They ended up playing Settlers of Cataan.
I stayed up much later than I ought to have. I woke around 5 a.m. with a headache which I still have. I managed more sleep, but it was the sort of thing with dreaming and a general awareness of things happening in the house around me and of me being in bed and wanting to sleep.
I got up around 10:30. Being upright helped the headache some, but it's still fairly nasty. I've taken Sudafed and Tylenol and Amerge in the last three hours and had food and caffeine. I looked for the Mucinex (since the fact that standing up helped seems a good indication that there's something sinus-related going on) but didn't find it.
