Scott reinstalled the OS on my laptop, and it's working now, but I'm worried about whether or not it will continue to work. The laptop's been having issues with not being willing to wake up after I've had it shut. One time in ten, plus or minus, I have to force a shutdown and reboot. It's been an issue for several months (since at least August).

I'd really like to put money into a cheap laptop, if we can find one that works with my configuration needs (mostly, I need a keyboard with a central trackpad below the keys so that I have enough space to either side of it to rest my palms and wrists as I type), that I can use entirely for internet and writing. I know Scott wants us to all have compatible electronics, but I don't do much of anything here that requires a Mac.

I'd have some problems with accessing old files, I suppose, but I have potential (and actual) issues with that anyway. Leaving aside iTunes-- email, web browsers, the calculator, and word processing account for probably 95% of my usage. Audio files take up much of the filled storage space on my current laptop, so if I'm not dealing with those, I need less storage space.

I'm sick today. Well, I'm having an allergy attack again. I'm 95% sure that these have all been allergy-related, and I think I've figured out what's causing these intermittent bouts of sneezing and runny nose-- Cordelia's been making a store brand cinnamon tea. I know that it correlates with the most recent two days of trouble, but none of us are sure when Scott bought the stuff, so I'm not 100% sure. But she's not making it every day, probably not more than twice a week, if that.

I'm not sure what to do about the problem. Well, no, I know one solution. It's just that getting rid of the tea altogether takes away something Cordelia likes. She's already protesting that I must be wrong.

The cinnamon pretty certainly isn't the culprit (I suspect that it's the chamomile) as I'm fine when I smell things cooked with it. Possibly there's some other cinnamon blend that she'll like just as much and that will be safe. I don't know. It will likely mean trying some different store, though, which is inconvenient.
