This morning, my sense of smell was ultra-sensitive. Scott makes himself an omelet most Saturdays and Sundays, and this morning, I couldn't go into the kitchen because of the lingering smells. Mostly, it was the combination of the frying and the fresh broccoli. Nine times out of ten, I don't notice that sort of thing, but this morning was awful.

I ended up putting a scented lotion on a thigh high sock (the pair was about $3, so I bought them to see if I liked them and found I didn't) and tied it around my head so that I was breathing through it. I considered asking Scott to prepare my coffee and find me breakfast, but my 'coffee' is kind of complicated and involves me adding a lot of things by eyeball measurement combined with taste.

I don't want Scott to have to give up the omelets because the odor's okay for me most of the time and because they're a thing he enjoys. It's just that, when it gives me trouble, it gives me a lot of trouble. I'm pretty sure that getting the hood installed over the stove would help, but that's going to require that I find someone to do the work. Making the calls to try to find someone keeps getting bumped down the list and/or forgotten.

I think the problem is that I'm on the edges of migraine territory this morning. I'm not sure why a migraine today, but I get massively odor sensitive with those, and I'm having other symptoms that fit with that.

Well, time to wake Cordelia so that she has time to get dressed and eat before my guest arrives.
