Fic Announcement
Feb. 15th, 2020 01:35 pmTitle: In a Tumbleweed Wind
Fandom: Weiss Kreuz
Rating: T
Length: 3008 words
Characters/Pairings: Hidaka Ken, Brad Crawford, Schuldig, Farfarello, Naoe Nagi
Tags: Time Travel, Swearing, Precognition, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence
Notes: Written for Past Imperfect, Future Unknown 2019. I had previously written the recipient a time travel fic in the same fandom for Writing Rainbow: Orange, and the request here pointed at the possibility that a sequel to that would fit what the recipient wanted. I was fairly sure that my being the author would be obvious enough that that wouldn't be what gave my identity away. I think this story can still be read as a standalone.
Since author reveals, I've put my three Weiss Kreuz time travel fics into a series, How Many Hours in Dowry. They're not 100% in continuity with each other, but they're close enough to make sense as a set.
Summary: Crawford wished he could reject the idea of time travel. Even more, he wished he could put a bullet in this older, shark-eyed version of Hidaka and pretend they'd never met. He poured more cream into his coffee and stirred. He kept his eyes on the swirl of white and black as they faded together. He took some comfort in feeling Schuldig's presence in the back of his mind.
Schuldig would provide backup the instant Crawford needed it.
