Alice Upside Down - Cordelia got this from Netflix. It was a fairly basic tween comedy about a girl whose family has just moved so that her father could buy a music store. Much of it centers on her interactions with a couple of teachers, one she admires and wants to be near and one who mentors her without Alice realizing it.

Dae Jang Geum 19-24 - I always forget, between DVDs, how good this is. It's wonderful to see something so centered on women. The acting is good. The costumes are gorgeous. I don't recognize a lot of the food, but it looks delicious.

The Eagle - Scott and I watched the first half hour of this together. We weren't impressed. There was a lot of action, but it felt like nothing happened. Scott thought he'd seen enough. I thought I might try a little more, but three days later, I still hadn't touched it, so I decided to just send it back. Maybe they'll actually send us The Lego Movie next. It's at the top of our queue.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Cordelia both wanted to see this and didn't. We took months over it because she refused either to watch the rest or to let us go on without her. I'm not sure how I feel about all of the added plot. It's been decades since I read the book, so I can separate the two fairly easily.

Leverage season 3 - Scott and I both enjoyed this. We like all the characters. We're used to the show now, so we know that the things that appear to go wrong are generally planned and part of the con. That takes away some of the suspense. We're always interested to see just how they pull off each job, though.

Planes - This was fairly cute. I don't think there were any surprises. I did keep questioning why a world populated by machines needs crops and crop dusters. What do they do with what they grow? The best explanation I could come up with was that it was all corn and they were making ethanol as fuel. I suppose there could be a darker explanation-- Maybe there actually are people somewhere in the world who have to be fed, but they're all hidden away, working to serve their mechanical masters. It's pretty darn unlikely, but I can't help wondering.

Teen Wolf season 1 DVD 1 - I'm not in love with this show. I'm still at the point of thinking I'll give it a little bit more of a chance. Right now, I'm thinking to give it to the end of season one to see if it hooks me. I know so many people who love this show. Of course, I intended to watch this alone, but Scott now wants to know what happens next. That alone may keep me watching.

Zoey 101 - Cordelia got this series from Netflix. Well, she got season one. I'm not clear if there are additional seasons and either Netflix doesn't have them or Cordelia didn't request them. I'm leaving Cordelia to manage her own Netflix queue these days. This series is about a girl who's attending a boarding school that just went from being boys only to being coed. It's a comedy, of course. It's no better and no worse than the other sitcoms Cordelia's gotten.
