Whatever fandom we matched on, I'm going to be thrilled to get a fic. I may have more to say about some fandoms than others, but that doesn't mean I love any of them less.
I'll read gen, het, and M/M or F/F slash, but I'm tending more toward gen these days. I'll read any pairing (or none!) and also threesomes and moresomes, but I prefer to avoid incest or underage (under 18) sex. I'll read any rating but am tending more toward G and PG fics right now. Two of the fandoms I'm requesting are intended for kids, and I'd prefer, in those cases, to avoid anything explicit.
I like crossovers, but I'm not familiar with a lot of the big, currently popular, western media fandoms. I like missing scenes and stories that expand on backstory. I don't mind angst, but I like to see the pain buy something, even if it's just character growth. I like divergent AUs, the sort where one detail changes and differences ripple out from there. I like time travel stories of various types. I like five things stories.
I dislike zombies, vampires and unicorns. I'm really upset by child harm. Horror, in general, is not for me. I don't like transplant AUs, the kind where they're all suddenly in a rock band or whatever. I'm deeply uncomfortable with most RPF; the exception is if all the real people have been dead at least a hundred years.
I don't particularly care if the story is in the style of canon as long as the characters are recognizably themselves. Sometimes a change in style gives an entirely new view of characters or events.
All of my fic but one permanently incomplete story can be found at AO3 under the name the_rck. I like other things, too, beyond what I write, but the stories are there if you want to take a look.
Alcatraz series - Brandon Sanderson: Any character. I knew, when I saw the title of the first book, that this was something I had to read. I mean-- Evil librarians? How and why? The answer turned out to be a lot of fun. The Smedry talents appeal to me because they're always things that seem like nothing much or like disadvantages but the Smedrys turn them into advantages, powerful advantages. I wouldn't mind world building or a story about one of the historical Smedrys mentioned in passing in the books. For the nominated characters, I have a few ideas (don't feel obligated to use any of them. They're just starting points that occurred to me). For Shasta Smedry, how did she and Attica meet and end up married? How does she really feel about Alcatraz? For Leavenworth (Grandpa), how about five times he was late? Backstory for Bastille could work. She's very young to be where she is, so she must have been very determined. Alcatraz has a good bit of time between book one and book two in which to have adventures. I'd love, too, future fic addressing any aspect of the cliffhanger at the end of book four, but I realize that's likely too big to be a manageable story.
Drujienna's Harp - Ellen Kindt McKenzie: Any character. I'm pleased to see that someone else nominated this too. I suspect that increases my odds of getting fic for it. All of the nominated characters are potentially interesting. I don't have specific prompts for all of them, so feel free to go wild with whichever of them we matched on. I am curious about what Duncan was doing while Tha was traveling around. I'm also curious about how Drujienna feels about her role in the curse. For any character but Duncan, what does the new era bring? What knowledge does Eshone's father have that has been forgotten by everyone else?
Wild Hunt - Jocelin Foxe: I didn't nominate any characters for this one because I'd be completely fine with any character, canonical or OC. I'm curious about the world building. More detail about how the Wild Hunt came to be could be interesting. I'd love to hear the stories that are shared about the Hunt and how to curse someone to join it and how to summon it and so on. A story focused on a single character, either canonical or original, would be great, too. I like character studies. It could be someone choosing to summon the Hunt or a member of the Hunt. For this fandom, I really regret that there were only two books. I wanted more.
