the_rckBig Hero 6 - Scott bought this the day it came out on DVD even though none of us had seen it. We watched it pretty much immediately and enjoyed it a lot. I expect we'll watch it again and enjoy it again. Baymax was charming, and I could believe the main character's reactions. I'd be interested in knowing more about the supporting cast. Scott did point out a minor plot hole, but we were all willing to forgive it.
Burn Notice season 7 DVD 4 - We were surprised on receiving this to discover that there was only one episode on it. There weren't even a lot of extras. I have no idea why they thought they needed a fourth DVD. I wasn't altogether satisfied with the final episode because I felt that, in the next to last episode, they set up a situation where anything the main character did was going to seem out of character. I also felt like the villain of the final season was kind of vague and incoherent.
How We Got to Now - I read this book a couple of months ago and thought I'd try the DVD. Unfortunately, the DVD seems to be word for word what was in the book. I suppose it's just as well. I didn't have time this week to watch six hours of anything. I watched a couple of episodes, enough to know that there wasn't anything new or different there.
Leverage season 4 - I remember, back when we started season 1 of this show, that we thought it was just okay. At this point, we're well and truly hooked. We love the characters. We have fun with the heists. We look forward to each new DVD as it arrives from Netflix. We're also enjoying reading the episode summaries on Mark Watches.
The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice - This is the third Librarian movie. I thought the plan that the initial villain had was kind of foolish. I'm not sure why he thought it would work. Unlike the female lead in the second movie, the female lead here served an important plot purpose. This movie was fun to watch. It wasn't deep or anything, but it was an enjoyable way to spend an hour or so.
The Librarian: Quest for the Spear - We enjoyed the series, The Librarians, so we thought we'd give the movies a try. I'm reasonably glad that we did. This one, the first in the series, wasn't spectacular, but it was silly fun.
The Librarian: Return to King Solomon's Mines - This is the second Librarian movie. I didn't like it quite as well as I did the first, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. We did see the villain coming from a long way off. I didn't like the way they just dropped the woman from the first movie without even mentioning what happened to her.
