I don't know. I think it would require a teacher who'd been trained to teach that way, and I don't think either of the seventh grade teachers have been.
I suspect that some of this would be remedied, in a regular middle school, by having gym more often. Because there's only one gym teacher and only one gym, my daughter's sixth grade class only had gym for part of the year and then only once a week. From what they told us at the orientation for the big middle school, if she'd gone there, she'd have had gym every other day, alternating with instrumental music.
They will get a little time outside at lunch time.
