And my sympathies on the allergic reaction. I had one last night, too. The day before we had dinner at a Chinese buffet where I have never had any problems before. I don't know what I was thinking, but I decided to try the hibachi grill station for the first time, and it didn't occur to me until after I started eating that they don't wash that grill between orders, they just scrape it down. So I took a Zyrtec as soon as I got home, just in case, and everything was fine.
But then last night when the Zyrtec started to wear off, my face started to get all red and itchy. I popped another Zyrtec and had a very uncomfortable hour until it started working again. My husband is out of town and I was worried that it would get worse and I would have to deal with it on my own.
My allergist said that when people start becoming allergic to a new alpha-gal meat, it often starts out as problems with only the high-fat cuts, while the lean cuts are still fine. So maybe that's part of the story for Scott?
