My sister has, at least, reached the stage of being angry at our father for this. She acknowledges that he has a right to think that she should have told him sooner and to feel hurt that she didn't, but she and I agree that his reaction was utterly inappropriate. Yelling at someone who's already scared and upset is an asshole thing to do no matter what the provocation.
